受埃斯特凡尼婭.佩納菲爾.洛艾薩《盧米埃》(2021)啟發,作品與兩作機器和人的緊張共鳴,藉抗拒生產物體和資訊,重申人的地位:世界日益數位化,過去被視為缺陷的「缺席」如今成了少數人們可以逃離技術控制的空間。

After Modern Times is a 24 FPS timer, of which length refers to the non-image parts between film frames of Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times (1936).
Inspired by Estefanía Peñafiel Loaiza’s lumières (2021), the work resonates with the tension between machine and human in both works, reclaiming a place for human through resisting the production of object and data: in an increasingly digital world, the once considered flaw “absence” becomes a few spaces left where one can flee from the control of technology.
