After Modern Times is a 24 FPS timer, of which length refers to the non-image parts between film frames of Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times (1936).
In an increasingly digital world, the once considered flaw “absence” becomes a few spaces left where one can flee from the control of technology. The work resonates with the tension between machine and human in the original film, reclaiming a place for human through rejecting data-sharing and wasting time.
